Become a Circular Monday Buddy

Apply to become a Circular Monday Spokesperson

Circular Monday is the world’s largest grassroots campaign for circular consumption - including repair, reuse, rental, sharing, second-hand purchasing, and upcycling. Founded in Sweden in 2017, it takes place each year on the Monday before Black Friday.

As a voluntary national or regionale spokesperson, you help amplify the campaign, mobilise circular action, grow awareness, and invite others to take part. In 2025, Circular Monday reached more than 100 million people in 58 countries, and every local action helps grow that impact.

Help make circular choices more visible

As a Circular Monday spokesperson, you use reasonable effort to help the movement grow.

This can include:

Grow the local network by recruiting and supporting Circular Monday Buddies, influencers and partners.

Activate your community by encouraging participation in Circular Monday campaigns, events and initiatives.

Spread the word through your networks, social media, PR, events, talks and relevant media.
Build visibility by connecting with journalists, influencers and other voices in your country or region.

Stay connected globally with the international spokesperson community through meetings and ongoing communication.

Represent Circular Monday in a positive, respectful way and in line with our Code of Conduct.

Your starting point

You do not need to arrive as an established public speaker, influencer, campaigner, or event organiser. What matters is that you care about circular consumption, are willing to take a first step, and are ready to grow from there.

That first step could be a conversation with a potential Buddy, a post sharing your story, or a small local activity - the best contribution is one you can continue and develop over time.

Your own story is often one of your most powerful tools: share why circularity matters to you, what you see in your community or sector, and the practical changes you believe in, because personal and specific stories can help others see how they, too, can take part.

Build a team — then share the work

You are not expected to do everything yourself. Many of the strongest Circular Monday efforts are built by a small, committed team.

You can invite volunteers, partners, colleagues, students, local businesses, or community members to contribute their strengths. One person may help with outreach, another with social media, another with event logistics, and another with local connections.

Delegation matters: give people clear ownership of real tasks, the information they need, and room to deliver. You remain the point of connection for the agreed spokesperson role, while your team helps make the work more creative, resilient, and sustainable.

What Circular Monday provides

Circular Monday aims to support you with access to spokesperson meetings and coordination tools, as well as templates, campaign materials, information, and communication guidelines.

You’ll receive practical inspiration for activities, partnerships, and visibility, along with reasonable coordination and support for campaign activities.

Approved Buddies and influencers may also have opportunities to be featured on Circular Monday’s website and through our global communication channels.

As part of the community, you’ll be connected with other spokespeople, volunteers, partners, and circular initiatives around the world.

Find the path that suits you

You can begin with one path, combine several, or create your own.

The Storyteller
Share your personal circular story; create posts, videos, articles, newsletters, podcasts, or conversations that make circular choices clear and relatable.

The Connector
Recruit Buddies, introduce partners, connect organisations, and build a local or sector-based network around Circular Monday.

The Hands-On Host
Create practical experiences such as round tables, repair cafés, take-back actions, swap corners, workshops, circular walks, exhibitions, or discussions.

The Workplace Champion
Bring Circular Monday into your organisation through internal learning, repair and reuse activities, employee engagement, or a visible circular commitment.

The Media Voice
Help circular stories travel further through local or national media, trade media, interviews, panels, opinion pieces, podcasts, and public events.

Start small. Grow steadily.

The aim is not to create huge events or manage a vast network quickly. It is to make a meaningful contribution, learn from it, build relationships, and grow in a way that works for you.Tell us what interests you, the networks or experience you already have, and what feels possible right now. Together, we can identify your first Circular Monday action.

A few important boundaries

The Circular Monday spokesperson role is voluntary and unpaid. Spokespeople represent Circular Monday locally while being part of our global community and are expected to follow our Code of Conduct and communication guidelines. Local partnerships and sponsorship opportunities are encouraged, but any financial arrangements or commitments made on behalf of Circular Monday must be agreed with Circular Monday Management in advance. Full terms are provided in the Spokesperson Agreement.
